Wow, what a neat video game tournament!
The Iowa Pro Gaming Challenge was about as big as we could handle here in Des Moines, as 27 teams from 12 different states were represented in this 4v4 Halo 3 and 4v4 Modern Warfare 2 tournament event.
The party started, as you've seen, with Friday night's "Level Up Pre-Party". This was a little lackluster, only because we had a lack in equipment due to last minute planning attempts. Nonetheless, it was a great chance to get some early registration taken care of and meet numerous participating teams.
Once Saturday (March 13, 2010) hit, things got crazy! As you can see from all the tournament stories, TIPGC photos, and even highlight video below; we had tons of good people join us and a ton of fun at this 2-day video game event.
WHO-TV 13 showed up to cover this unique tournament, as did the Des Moines Register and Des Moines Juice, so that was pretty neat media coverage for sure. We ran games all throughout Saturday and into Sunday, when we finally crowned our 2010 champions...
Overall this event was a huge success. We're working on developing details for the next big GoG video game event, so stay close.
